Former Student Work!
Hi there! Today we're looking at past students work and I'll be reviewing them! :D

^^ First video!
To start, I feel the police car in the beginning was a good touch to establish the scene. However, I feel they should have added a police car siren, which would have added so much more to the establishing part of the scene. The boom shot with the title sequence was a great touch. After the title sequence, the music just cut, it felt very choppy and unexpected, I feel they should have faded the music out. I think they should have focused more on the book with the girls information. The zoom in was okay, they should have instead cut and used a mediums shot to get the girl talking. Again, they should pay more attention to the books then cut to the suspect. The plot is good and I would watch this movie for sure if I saw the opener, I just think the types of camera shots did not feel right. It felt too shaky.

^^Second video!
Him getting ready was good with great transitions and use of sounds. However, the sound of him walking on the wooden floor in his house sounded like he was hiking in dirt which then sounded very fake. When he was walking to school it felt very shaky, I think it would have felt more natural if they filmed him from behind walking slowly and from the front to show his emotions. Also the music on the headphones didn't sound like it was coming from his headphones but rather a car, it was confusing if he was playing music out loud or not. When he was about to introduce himself, the heartbeats felt too loud, I feel like they should have put it a little more quiet and it would have sounded more natural. But overall it is a great opener and a great idea.
^^ Third video!
I found the dream at the start very creative. The reverse shots of her picking up the flowers was very creative as well, I loved every second of it. It just felt pretty repetitive after a few times. I also liked the cuts, it felt very smooth and developed the plot. The shots in cvs were perfect and the camera angles to show her stealing pills was great. Overall, this movie opener was amazing and I really enjoyed it.
This film with its camera dynamic camera angles shows the
scenes perfectly. I like how they play with the flowers with the monologue in
the background. However, I feel like emotion while the girl is talking about
what happened is very plain and monotone. It doesn’t give off the emotion that
she’s trying to display by her storytelling. Also I feel like the story is
confusing, at least for me.. I didn’t understand what was happening until 5
minutes later. Overall it was great with its camera shots and angles.

^^Fifth video!
This by far was my favorite video, this one looks most like a movie. First off the quality is amazing. The music fit the atmosphere and set the mood up of excitement perfectly. The dynamic shots of the car were perfect, it was quick and it really looked like a movie. When the characters are climbing up the stairs and come out the door the movement of not only the camera but the actors was just perfect, the scene just came alive with just the simple factor of everyone moving and looking around. Also I really enjoyed the shots of the car, showing how fast they were going, it just brought everything together. Good job to the director and cameraman because this is awesome.. I was smiling the whole time while watching this. The only thing I will say is that the title in the beginning is difficult to read with the lighting and the building, but nevertheless this film is fantastic!!
