Storyboard!
Link for the video my storyboard is based off! ^^
Hi there! Today I made
a storyboard for the wonderful scene and song of Wonka, A World Of Your Own. I
am used to making storyboards as I make them for videography and The Swamp TV.
Though this did pose a challenge for me as I am not skilled in drawing guys...
The time I do spend drawing, I draw girls and their facial expressions. Another
thing I found challenging was how long the storyboard was. After the first
page, I gave up on trying to draw efficiently and focused more on the scene and
where the main components are in the scene. Also, it was very time consuming
and requires a lot of dedication and patience... This took me a while as I did
it over a course of a week.
But despite all these things I have learned
that storyboarding is the vision of the story and how it will play out. Without
a storyboard, the actors or directors may portray a different story from your
original vision. Having a storyboard is a great visual representation of your
film and to communicate your ideas and vision for the film efficiently. As
shown in my past experiences with Swamp TV and videography, going into film
without a storyboard is rather chaotic and unorganized. For example, there was
one time I filmed for Swamp TV a drawing challenge. Without a storyboard and a
clear plan, all the directors and cameramen all had different visions for the
skit. This made our first attempt at recording a big fat fail. After that we did
another skit but with a storyboard. This was easier to process as we knew what
to record, we knew what to expect, and we all shared the same vision.
As an editor for the Swamp TV as well, having a storyboard makes the editing
process way easier as you can satisfy the producer by completing their vision.
Editing without a storyboard is more time-consuming and rather challenging.
Anyways! Doing this storyboard was
fun and different to try from the multiple skits I’ve produced. Having a
storyboard is waaaaayyyyyyy more efficient… and I mean it. It has made
my recording process for skits and films easier.
